Get Out & About
connecting to nature makes me #healthynhappy
Transforming Lives’ Out & About programme brings small groups to different locations in Cambuslang and Rutherglen to engage with the natural world and learn about the community.
These sessions include getting creative with land art, learning about trees and different plants, fun with foraging (including making delicious blossom tea on some walks!), a step back in time with local history, and much more.
Out & About is great for people who are looking to improve their wellbeing and become a little fitter. It is also ideal for people who want to feel comfortable in their local streets and greenspaces.
Whilst taking part you can enjoy new and interesting facts about your environment and learn how to reduce your carbon footprint.
Anywhere and everywhere in Cambuslang and Rutherglen! We aim to visit local and accessible hidden natural gems across your area.
Previous locations include Cuningar Loop, Overtoun Park and many more...
There will be a short programme with a different theme every 2-3 months. Therefore, something new is coming up soon, whatever the time of year!
We are also developing a seasonal programme. This will involve the same group returning to the same spot each season for a year to see the changes that take place. This will also include photography that will work towards a photo exhibition of these natural sites.
