Covid-19 Updates

What we are doing to reduce the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19)

In these times of uncertainty, we’re certain of one thing - that there are lots of good people out there with great community spirit across Cambuslang and Rutherglen, and we all really need that right now.

We are coordinating with local politicians, agencies and local community organisations from Cambuslang and Rutherglen, so we can help residents and communities with what they may need in these difficult circumstances. This has produced the CamGlen Covid Support Group to help make sure we all get the support and help needed.

Need Help?

If you need support, whether it's simply advice or a friendly chat, please let us know by completing the request form below:

Alternatively, if you require some help or support, you can fill out a form at or call the Wellbeing Helpline on 0303 123 1009.

Want to Help?

Thank you to everyone who has offered to be involved in supporting others in our community by completing our volunteering form. What an amazing response with over 300 people registering to get involved!

We are delighted to have so many local people sign up, however we only have a limited number of opportunities for everyone right now in order to keep everyone safe.  There are also many local residents that are self-organising and providing support which is testimony to the strength of our local CamGlen communities, with so many residents ready and able to help those in need.  We are therefore not looking for any additional volunteers at the moment, but as the situation may change please check the website for updates in the following weeks.

We will also be providing regular updates on all Covid-19 response activity, so please keep checking this website to keep up to date.

Again thank you for commitment at this challenging time and for your commitment to support local residents and communities. advertise locally for us and set up a local food collection from which we can pick up donations from you safely.

Updated: 24th March 2020

We want to provide a safe and healthy environment for all of our participants, volunteers, guests, customers and staff.  So in the short term we are following government health advice and have postponed/cancelled all of our face-to-face activities and our office is not open. Please be assured, however, that we are still here and willing to help however we can and we know that lots of residents are too.

All our teams are planning for how we can still offer support where it is most needed in our communities – it may just be in a slightly different format.

Bike Town: Due to the latest UK Government guidelines allowing bicycle shops to remain open and to ensure key workers have a safe means of transport, we will be open limited hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm for sales, repairs and servicing of bicycles. During these hours you can also call us on 0141 647 3250.

Outwith those hours we are open by appointment only to key workers. If you would like to book an appointment, please email with your name and a contact number.

Please note, we will be operating a queuing system in our yard, to ensure a safe distance is kept between customers and staff. Only one customer on premises at a time and only one staff member to one customer. We ask you to help us here and to respect this. Unfortunately we are unable to lend out bikes or ebikes at this time.

Number 18: Whilst some activities in our venue have stopped running face to face we are starting up some of them again online such as Ally Bally Bounce & Beat, check out the website or the Facebook page for further details.

CamGlen Radio: We are using remote solutions to keep providing fresh content including news, community announcements, programmes and more.  We are continuing our free community advertising service, so if you wish to get a message out to the communities we serve, please email

Transforming Lives: If you are already registered with us you can expect contact from us soon.  You can call us on the usual office numbers or email out for us online too. If you are not already registered, contact us and join our plan! We are exploring online groups, videos and lots of other ideas for chatting, learning, sharing, art projects, at-home science projects for the kids, stress info and much more!

Transforming Communities:  We are changing the way we engage with our communities, however we will be engaging with you all.  Some of this may be online, through facebook groups or supporting community volunteers so that people remain connected and have what they need wherever possible.

Meantime we’re still at the end of the phone, on social media, on e-mail or however you normally get in touch with us.

We’ll be keeping a daily eye on developments and will provide as much information/guidance as we can on what to do if you have been exposed to the virus, or are worried you may have it.
