Every one of you and what you do makes us #healthynhappy
In order to make things run you need people - and we've had so many offers from you to give us your time. We've got people cycling and driving vans to collect food or get shopping, volunteering in our food hubs and befriending others in their streets to have chats.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have offered and given their time. You are all amazing and we are so grateful. THANK YOU.
We put out an appeal for food donations and we've been blown away by what you are doing in our communities for others who are struggling right now. We've had our Biketown cargo bikes and vans full of food collections because individuals, neighbourhood streets and groups are organising food donations on our behalf. For example thanks to Ability Fitness for organising with your exercisers! All of your generosity is incredible. THANK YOU.
We're giving a special thank you to all of you that are undertaking challenges and fundraising on our behalf, sponsoring others doing challenges (2.6 Challenge, Kiltwalkers) or just giving us one off donations. From pocket money to the large donations we appreciate each and every one of them.
We've had people doing sponsored runs, cycles, walks, flipping pancakes, doing jumping jacks and literally going around in circles for 2.6 hours! We've also got groups that have very kindly given us donations from fundraising events they held just before lockdown. Thanks to Eastfield United football club, to multiple local residents groups and to the Glasgow Care Foundation.
Every donation small or large is very much appreciated. You can support us by clicking here. THANK YOU.
We want to extend a big thank you to all our funders and partners who support our work in our local communities, throughout years gone past and also more recently during these difficult times. Our home page shows all our partners and funders.
However we'd like to give a special mention to the National Lottery Community Fund, Robertson Trust, Esmee Fairbairn, DTAS, Scottish Government, South Lanarkshire Council and Clyde Gateway, Health & Social Care Partnership and NHS Lanarkshire for supporting our COVID response efforts.
We've had local businesses get in touch telling us they want to help in their communities however they can. We've had cash donations and 'in kind'' product donations. Thanks to SackMaker of Rutherglen for their generous donation to our COVID response efforts.
Thanks to Chivas, Glasgow Distillery Company and Distell International for their hand sanitiser. This is being used to keep our food hubs operational and also in our bike unit to help us keep keyworkers on their bikes. We've also had our local supermarkets Asda, Morrisons and Tesco supporting us with Food Donations through FairShare and British Gas using their vans to help us pick up food from the supermarkets. THANK YOU.
We want to do a huge shout out to our Board and our staff teams. They've been working tirelessly throughout all this to get help to where it is needed most whilst also continuing to deliver 'business as usual' programmes if such a thing exists anymore. So for all the long nights and early mornings and difficult situations we appreciate all of your efforts. THANK YOU.
Saving the best to last - we would like to give a huge thank you to all of you, our community, for supporting our work, supporting each other and showing amazing community spirit. We’ll get through this together THANK YOU.
