Burnhill Action Group

If you are interested in developing a local group for the area please feel free to pop in and chat with the group.

The Burnhill Action Group is a community group supported by Healthy n Happy, which aims to

  • Act as a positive voice for the Burnhill neighbourhood by working together to improve the area, for the benefit of everyone who resides there. 
  • To promote community well-being, community spirit and cohesion. 
  • To foster and encourage community pride, by making the area a better and safer place to live. 
  • To encourage the goodwill and involvement of the wider community through the development of activities and events.

Recent/Current Activities

The Burnhill Action Group has been working on many different projects, these include

  • WE HAVE MOVED: The Burnhill Community Hub has moved to West and Wardlawhill Parish Church, 3 Western Avenue, G73 1JQ. Only the venue has changed, times and activities are still the same; Parent cafe 1-3pm, Citizens Advice Bureau 1-3.30pm, Routes To Work South 2-4pm and Burnhill Action Group meetings 2-4pm.
  • SOCIAL HUB: The Action Group have received Participatory Budget funding to set up a social hub for activities including Bingo, exercise classes and arts and crafts. This will be in addition to the current community Hub. If you're interested in developing this idea or taking part in activities get in touch.
  • TOOL HIRE: A free garden equipment hire scheme where you can lend a variety of small appliances such as lawnmowers, strimmers, cutters, spades etc. To take advantage of this, please go to Burn Hill facebook page and request an item, one of the group will be in touch to make arrangements for you to collect your items. Alternative pop along to Burnhill Community Hub on Thursdays between 1 and 4pm, the group are there to assist you.

If you are interested in developing a local group for the area please feel free to pop in and chat with the group. Interest from residents wishing to develop a local arts and crafts group, prize bingo and a dancing group have already been received and plans are ongoing with this
