I spend a great amount of my time in voluntary work due to early retirement as a result of ill health. This ranges from my church, to the radio station, local credit union and of course the Community Health Initiative. I have been involved since inception of what was initially the Healthy Living Project.

Being brought up in a medical household, I have always been aware and interested in the health of people in the community and how it could be improved. I have been a member and office bearer of a number of community organisations and for fourteen years was employed as manager of a community voluntary organisation. As the current Chair of the Cambuslang & Rutherglen Public Partnership Forum, I am keen to let the community’s voice about health to be heard in the NHS.

Joy Anderson - Board Member

I have been volunteering with Friends of Cambuslang Park for about 4 years now. I was also a board member of Create for 2 years. It was through these organisations that I first heard of the work of CHI. I enjoy the monthly walking meditation walks run by CHI which take place in Cambuslang Park and was happy that FoCP were able to work in partnership with CHI for the 2010 summer programme in the park. I look forward to greater involvement as a board member. On a personal note: I’m married with 2 cats! I like my (wild!) garden, 60’s/70’s & classical music, city breaks, cooking and learning new stuff.
