“’Amy’sStory’ has been used as part of a doctoral research project on exploringchildren and young people’s experience of parental alcohol misuse. The study isbeing conducted by myself at the University of Edinburgh incollaboration with Barnardo’s child care organization. I involved 9 youngpeople, aged 11 – 14, all with experience of parental alcohol misuse inresearch groups to inform the wider research study. ‘Amy’s story’ was viewedpositively by the participants and myself as an effective tool in generatingdiscussion. I intend to explore using ‘Amy’s story’ with different groups ofchildren and young people throughout the study.”
