What is the Cambuslang and Rutherglen Public Partnership Forum?

The Public Partnership Forum (PPF) is  a broad network of local organisations and individuals who are interested in health and social care services and want to be kept informed and involved in how they are designed and provided in Cambuslang and Rutherglen. This will be an opportunity for you to play a part in shaping the future of health care in Cambuslang and Rutherglen and make a real difference in the decisions that are taken. The PPF is supported by the Community Health Partnership (CHP) and the Scottish Health Council.

What does the Public Partnership Forum do?

The PPF informs local people about the range and location of health and social care services in Cambuslang and Rutherglen. It engages with local service users, carers and the public in discussion about how to improve services. It supports wider public involvement  in planning and decision making about public services.
And it represents the public view at CHCP and other organisation group meetings.

What are the benefits of getting involved in the PPF?

The PPF is for anyone who is interested in their or their community’s health. By joining the group you have the chance to have your say on how healthcare is delivered in your area. The PPF can help you to give feedback to Health Boards about your experience of services. Who can join the Cambuslang and Rutherglen PPF? Anyone who lives or works in Cambuslang or Rutherglen can join the PPF.

How can I get involved?

You can come along to one of our regular meetings which take place locally once every two months.

What if I can’t get to the meetings?

Coming to a meeting is by no means the only way to help. If you are unable to attend a meeting, you can register to join and you will be kept updated with all the information that is important to you. This means that you will receive consultation papers and surveys about health and will be given the opportunity to respond to them. You will also receive the minutes of the PPF meetings and will be able to comment on the content.

I am involved in a voluntary group. How do we fit in?

The group can register as a part of the PPF network. Your group would detail who you are, where you operate, your areas of interest and expertise. You would indicate  how your group wants to be involved. You would then be kept informed about specific issues which you can circulate to your members. You can then ask people from your group to comment on proposals or respond to surveys and consultations.
