The CHI Stress Management Service is for local people in Cambuslang and Rutherglen who feel that stress is an issue for them

You may feel this way because you are finding it hard to relax or sleep, you may be feeling anxious or tense, perhaps you have been trying to cope but it just gets worse, or you feel confused and lacking in motivation.   This may be because of a bereavement or family issues, overwork or money problems, worry about someone else or your own health, or you may lack confidence to address issues

Or perhaps you have a specific goal in mind

Want to quit smoking? Cope better with family caring responsibilites? Survive the recession? improve your housing situations? Get healthy?

Whatever the stressors, we will try and help you to

learn to manage the stress

Step One is to come to one of our Open Doors sessions.  At your appointment you can talk one-to-one with a stress management worker, who will help your choose from a wide range of options to create your own personal action plan.  Your choices might include self help tips that you can do at home, joining in one of CHI's friendly Connections groups, appropriate referral, learning much more about your strss and how to manage it with a Changes course.

Step Two is to join in our activites!  There are many options for you to join - Evening Relaxation Groups, Monthy Meditation Walk in the Park, Choices workshop group, Changes stress management course and much more.

Your stress management worker will keep in touch with you and support you to achieve your goals.  We will also send you occasional health and wellbeing information and helpful tips.

Step Three is to keep it up!

We will keep in touch with you and let you know about other activites and services.  We would really like to see how you are getting on and hear about your successes.  There may e other support you can access or moving on options such as volunteering, learning, and our "Pass It On!" programme which helps you learn new skills that you can share with others - your friends, family, community and colleagues.

All we ask is that you are committed to the possibility of change and are willing to try to make these changes, with our support, for lasting improvement in your life

Remember … stress relief helps you feel better for a short time,

but Stress Management helps you take back control over your life,

build your confidence and gain a realistic positive outlook
